![]() ![]() The more I stared at the ports trying to get a good picture of the tooling marks the more I began to notice, the ports are not identical. The ports were not bad but not at the same level as the rest of the barrel. The cut out of the ports were not super smooth like the rest of the barrel and clearly showed some tooling marks. The exterior finish was nice and consistent with the exception of my ports. I didn’t see $160 worth some dimples, a barrel color and tolerances only Jerry Miculek could take advantage of worth the money so I went LWD. 0002, LWD doesn’t say), altered twist rate, and dimples on your barrel. When you make that jump from a $90 wolf barrel to a $250 zev barrel what you gain is some finishing options, what I suspect are tighter tolerances (zev is. They also go so far as to suggest that the gun will be both more reliable and more accurate over the factory barrel. The outside of the barrel is cnc machined and the rifling is broach cut. The barrel made of 416R stainless and are forged barrels. Every other aftermarket barrel seemed to start around the $200 mark but what did I lose for paying half the price? The answer is, not much. For aftermarket barrels this is cheap, even at msrp. This barrel retails for $110 but right now lone wolf is having a sale and they are getting rid of them for $90. This particular barrel is an externally ported version, which means it extends out past the end of the slide much further than the OEM barrel and has a pair of notches cut into the top. I ignored all of that myth though went forward on getting one for a Glock 26. In fact, I totally wrote about all of the myths in a separate piece for you guys. The internet lore would tell you they will ruin pretty much everything, it might even find a way to stop that next raise you were shooting for.
